The film, based on the acclaimed novel by Patrick deWitt, directed by the famous Jacques Audiard ("With Blood and Bones", "Prophet"), will take us into a whole new dimension of the western. The image of Audiardo, full of humor and twists, reminds us what it means to be a human being.

The year 1851, Charlie and Eli Sisters (Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly) are not only brothers, they are also killers. Boys who grew up on men in a wild, hostile world. Yes, they have blood on their hands - blood of bandits, blood of the innocent. But they just do not know another life, they're men with guns in their hands. Elder of the brothers - Eli (Reilly), the more prone to reflection, matures to start living a normal life. Another opinion is eternally drenched with alcohol Charlie (Phoenix), who tries to take over the power in this murderous duet. Both of them constantly question each other's ideas for life.

We meet Sisters brothers while traveling through the northeast, in the mountains of Oregon, stop for a moment in a dangerous brothel in a small town, until finally they are fooled by the Californian gold rush. This trip will be a test of family ties. But will it also become a path to finding humanity in yourself?

In the film, we'll also see Jake Gyllenhaal as the hunter John Morris and Riz Ahmed the runaway chemist Hermann Kermit Warm.
