Beginning of the 18th Century. England is at war with the French, but the attention of the court is absorbed by duck racing and the emergence of pineapples on the market. Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) is sitting on the throne, and the country is ruled by her close friend, Lady Sarah (Oscar-winning Rachel Weisz). With admirable devotion, she looks after the eager and impetuous queen. A new servant Abigail (Oscar-winning Emma Stone) arrives at the court, which charms Sarah with her charm.
