Shown in the main competition at the last Berlinale festival, an excellent farce in the life of the upper classes in the star cast (Kristin Scott Thomas, Patricia Clarkson, Timothy Spall, Cillian Murphy).
IN CINEMA FROM 5 JANUARY 2018
Janet (Kristin Scott Thomas) organizes a home party among his loved ones to celebrate his promotion to the health minister in the British government.
Among the guests are sarcastic April (Patricia Clarkson) and her husband Gottfried (Bruno Ganz), a supporter of alternative medicine; a pair of liberated lesbians - Martha (Cherry Jones) and her more than a dozen years younger partner Jinny (Emily Mortimer); Strangely upset banker Tom (Cillian Murphy), who starts the party by pulling a cocaine line in the toilet.
Meanwhile, the housekeeper's husband, Bill (Timothy Spall), seems completely uninterested in the whole situation. He sits in the center of the living room, sings wine without a word, and only occasionally lets go of eccentric music from a vinyl record.
The situation is getting tense ...
