Alita (Rosa Salazar) wakes up without a memory in the world of the future she does not recognize. Care is taken by Ido (two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz), a sympathetic doctor who realizes that the body of a discarded cyborg hides the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past.

Alita is learning a new life on the streets of the treacherous City of Scrap.
