The Second World War is under way. Ed and his father and mother leave Prague and move to a village where his relatives live, including an uncle who has the opinion of a black sheep in the family. The boy is waiting for fun in the company of local kids, first, more or less daring experience with girls, various homemade fuss. Somewhere in the background there is a bloody war struggle, but it does not bother Ed much to enjoy the many attractions of childhood. The latest film by Jan Svěrák is a prequel of his primary school from 1991.
