MUSICAL. DRAMA. Cooper plays the role of Jackson Maine, a country music star whose career is in decline when he discovers a talented, unknown to anyone singer Ally (played by Lady Gaga). When a fiery romance erupts between the two, Jack persuades Ally to get out of the shadows and helps her achieve fame. However, when Ally's career quickly overshadows Jack's accomplishments, he finds it harder and harder to deal with his own fading star.
