After his mother's unexpected death, a nine-year-old boy called Cukinja is befriended by friendly police officer Raymond and goes to a child's home where other children are his age. Initially, Zucchini is having trouble adjusting to a new place, not always getting along with everyone. Gradually, he finds friends and, when needed, he can count on their support.
