Johnny is a family farmer in the province of North England, away from the city. Hard, physical work repels binge drinking in a local pub and casual sex. When a handsome Romanian immigrant arrives at a farm, Johnny discovers feelings he did not know before. Working together on the pasture brings them together and gives Johnny hope for change.

"Beautiful Country" is compared to "The Brokeback Mountain Mystery," a Sundance award for Best Direction. In Poland shown at the T-Mobile New Horizons festival in the "Discovery" section.
