Presented in the Main Competition of the last year's festival in Berlin, a new drama by the outstanding German director Christian Petzold, the author of the "Feniks" and "Barbara" distributed by Aurora Films.

The protagonist of the film is Georg, who during the escape from France after the Nazi invasion takes over the identity of the deceased writer whose documents he acquired accidentally. Stuck in Marseilles, Georg meets a young woman, Marie, desperately seeking a missing husband - a man under whom Georg is impersonating ...

"Transit" is not only an extremely realistic picture of Nazi terror embedded in contemporary scenography. The director is interested above all in the reflective analogy between the fate of the then European refugees and the current wave of migration to Europe. The screenplay of the film was based on the novel by Anna Seghers "Transit", published for the first time in 1944.
