Heroes "Only lovers will survive" is a vampire hundreds of years old tired and disgusted with how the developed world. But they are not typical representatives of their species to extinction: Although they feed on blood and prefer the darkness of the night, but the most important thing is for them to art, literature, music - and lasting love for centuries. This sophisticated connoisseurs of life, posh dandies drowned in the twenty-first century, however, still remembers the intensity of romance.

Adam (Hiddleston) is avoiding publicity and sunlight underground musician Syd Barrett cross between David Bowie and Hamlet. He lives in a secluded part of Detroit, collecting guitars, listening to vinyl and creates electronic music of the end of the world. Melancholy loneliness brightens the long-awaited arrival of his beloved, Eva (Swinton). Together they drive at night in the deserted town in the hypnotic rhythm of the music, celebrating every moment we spend together. But the quiet life of a couple of lovers will be put to the test when unannounced join them unpredictable and famished sister Eve - Ava (Wasikowska).
