Venom, an alien symbiote, one of Marvel's most important, most complex characters, emerges from the shadows, entering the body and personality of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy). As a journalist, Eddie tried to unmask the evil activities of the famous Life Foundation company, led by Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). Over the years, it became his obsession, ruined his career and his relationship with Anne (Michelle Williams).

When one of Drake's experiments - alien Venom - merges with Brock's body, he suddenly gets superpowers and the ability to do whatever he wants. The devastated, dark, unpredictable, aggressive Venom in Brock's body makes Eddie try to control the new powers, although he also notes that they are inspiring and tempting. Both of them try to take control of each other and get what they want, becoming more and more together.
